Today, we discussed another neighborhood helper, the fire fighter. We reviewed how a police officer helps keep people safe. Then we discussed how fire is dangerous and if there is a fire, fire fighters come to put it out. We also talked about how the fire fighters outfit can make him/her look scary, but actually they are our friends and want to help us. Then we got to act it out. Two children dressed up like fire fighters and went to the kitchen area. Then another child dialed 911 on our pretend phone and told the fire fighters “Please come help us!” Then the two fire fighters came from the kitchen making fire truck noises (nee nor,nee nor). We had a great time!
Tomorrow, we will be visiting a real fire station. We are so excited. Please dress your child warmly for the trip.
Because of our Thursday snow storm, there was no challa dough on Friday. We decided because we had been learning about bakery, to make a cupcakes for Shabbos So everyone got a turn at helping out make cupcakes for Shabbos.
