We started learning our first color. On Tuesday, as soon as we got into class, we started finger painting with red paint. It was nice to see how soft and smooth it felt. Some of us put our whole hands in and some just used our fingers.
After breakfast, we went for a walk and noticed that some trees had leaves that were becoming red. We took some leaves back into the class with us and looked at the different colors. Some had red, or yellow or green. Morah Perel explained that the trees were getting ready to sleep in the winter. Before the trees go to sleep, their leaves turn red, yellow, or orange and fall off. We also see that its changing outside, because now it is cold and we have to wear coats and sweaters.
On Tuesday, we started our day with coloring with crayons. We’ve also began discussing and introducing sharing skills. Morah Bella and Morah Perel brought puppets and the puppets showed us how to ask for a turn and how to give turns to our friends. We will continue reviewing theses steps, but we can already see the children starting to use the correct language.
We got to play in our Back Play Room. Afterwards, Morah Perel introduced a special bag. Each child got a turn to take out an object. Surprise! Everything was the color red. We reviewed the color and identified the objects.
