Color Review

We enjoyed gluing Styrofoam peanuts on two of our menorah sticks. At playtime we got to paint with blue dot markers. By circle time, we reviewed our three colors red, yellow. and blue using colored dreidels.  We then practice matching the next three colors that we will be learning. We did a great job!

Color Blue

Today, we began our color Blue. We saw that we were wearing blue and then we each got a turn to find a blue toy in the classroom. We also had to pick out the blue bead from a bag of beads. At playtime, we got to play with Dreidels!! That was fun!

Beginning Chanuka

Today, we started our day by beginning our class bulletin collage Menorah. Then by circle time, we started to learn our song for the Chanuka Recital. We also got a chance to play with dreidels.
We went then to the other building for our Rosh Chodesh rally. We really enjoyed watching the skits put on by 5th and 1st grade in honor of Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Tomorrow, we will be beginning the color blue!

Family Books and Israel

Today, we finished our Family books. We reviewed our knowledge of the parts of the face by making collage faces of ourselves and our parents. Not only did we review our parts of our face but we also worked on our fine motor skills when we glued down small beans and scrunched tissue paper for our Family books. We’ve been talking about how we love our family and our friends. We remembered that we made cupcakes for our parents.

By circle time, we discussed how we love Hashem and how Hashem loves us and gave us a special land, Eretz Yisroel. We looked at pictures in the book about Israel that Boris brought. We looked at photos that Rachel and Rebecca bought. They also bought special lotions made from the Dead Sea. So we all tried a little on our hands. It smelled so nice and felt soft and smooth. Thank you to Boris, Rachel, and Rebecca.

We’ve been taking pictures with our new camera given to us by David’s family, but I’m still working out the kinks of downloading it. But until then I’ll try to still keep you updated on the blog.

Yellow!

Today, we made play dough in our class. We took turns adding flour, salt, and water colored yellow. We saw how the ingredients turned from white to yellow when we added the yellow water.

Then by circle time, we reviewed both colors red and yellow and sorted objects to the correct colors. We also played a movement game. When Morah Perel picked up the color red, we clapped our hands. When she picked up the color yellow, we stamped our feet. It was a lot of fun.

After that, we went outside on a “yellow hunt” and looked for objects that were yellow.  What a great day!
