Finishing our Menorahs

We have completed our Menorahs. After we painted and sprinkled with glitter, we added tiles and bolts for the candles. (Morah Bella and Morah Perel then shellacked them with modge podge to make them inflammable.)

We then made a plaque with the Chanukah Brochos for us to use on Chanukah. It will have a piece of magnet on the back so that it can be kept on the fridge.

 

We’ve been working on our fine motor skills by using a lot of stickers. We’ve gotten really good at using stickers.

 

We had our first Recital rehearsal today. We did great!! We can’t wait for the real Recital.

Friday, we had so much fun painting white paint on black paper with our dreidels.

On Monday, we were so happy to have a lot of our friends back.  We reviewed the Chanukah story and continued our Menorahs and dreidel costumes.

Chanukah Time!

We have been spending all week learning about Chanukah.  We began by having Show and Tell about Chanukah toys the yeladim brought to school.

We then started to make our very own Menorah! We started by sanding the wood. We then glued down a block for the Shamash. Today, we painted them!! So much fun.

We have also started to learn the Chanukah story. We learned that long ago,  the Jewish people had the Beis Hamikdash in Eretz Yisroel.  We discussed all the mitzvahs that we do in our classroom and how much we love them. We then talked about King Antiochus who told  the Jewish people that they can’t do the mitzvahs that they love. That made them very sad and the Jewish people didn’t want Antiochus around anymore. So they told him to go away and not to bother them.

Color Review

We enjoyed gluing Styrofoam peanuts on two of our menorah sticks. At playtime we got to paint with blue dot markers. By circle time, we reviewed our three colors red, yellow. and blue using colored dreidels.  We then practice matching the next three colors that we will be learning. We did a great job!

Color Blue

Today, we began our color Blue. We saw that we were wearing blue and then we each got a turn to find a blue toy in the classroom. We also had to pick out the blue bead from a bag of beads. At playtime, we got to play with Dreidels!! That was fun!
